With PCS licenses in four states in the southeastern US, as well as Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, SunCom Wireless provides wireless communications services to more than 1 million subscribers. The company markets its wireless services under the SunCom brand and sells handsets (made by Nokia and Samsung among others) and other services through company-owned retail stores, national retailers, and a direct sales force. SunCom Wireless was acquired in 2008 by Deutsche Telekom-owned T-Mobile USA.
