SciQuest helps organizations get closer to their suppliers. The company's supplier management and procurement automation software helps customers reduce costs and more closely monitor their spending. SciQuest also offers materials management systems that let organizations track and display detailed information about their inventory. The company serves customers in a broad range of industries, including biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, energy and utilities, food and beverage, health care, telecommunications, and universities. SciQuest was acquired and taken private by Trinity Ventures in July 2004. Intersouth Partners and River Cities Capital Funds became investors soon afterwards.
