The company's software products streamline such processes as enterprise resource planning, e-recruitment, and alumni communications, serving more than 700 institutions throughout North America. Datatel was founded in 1968 by Ken Kendrick and Tom Davidson; they sold the company in 2005 to members of their exective team (backed by Thoma Cressey Equity Partners and Trident Capital).
