One of Mexico's top developers and builders of affordable housing, the company constructs entry-level and middle-income housing units and boasts a 35 million sq. meter land bank. It also leases mini-supermarkets and other commercial properties. Consorcio ARA provides such services as land location and buying, licensing and permit management, design, and general contracting. In addition, it is Mexico's fifth largest producer of concrete, all of which it, ahem, pours into its construction projects. Founded in 1977 by Luis Felipe Russek and Germán Ahumada Russek, Consorcio ARA went public in 1996, becoming one of Mexico's first housing developers to do so.
