WebTrends answers the who, what, when, and where of corporate Web sites. Customers use the company's software to analyze, manage, and report on who is using their site, what pages visitors view most, and when problems are about to occur. Its software also monitors security, determines how users access a company's Web site, and analyzes e-commerce functions. WebTrends' customers come from a wide range of industries and have included T-Mobile, Royal Appliance, and Volvo . The company was originally acquired by NetIQ in 2001, which later sold the division to Francisco Partners in 2005.
