Genzyme Oncology, a division of Genzyme, develops, manufactures, and markets traditional and gene-based cancer therapies. Its technology approaches include antiangiogenesis, which halts the growth of blood vessels in tumors; cancer diagnostics and vaccines; and a program attacking cancer at the cellular level. Marketed products include Campath (for the treatment of B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia, also known as B-CLL) and and the newly-approved Clolar, which is used in the treatment of relapsed acute lymphoblastic leukemia in children.
