Embratel Participações (Embrapar) provides fixed-line voice and data telecommunications services, as well as pay television to consumers and business customers in Brazil over a network consisting of satellites, fiber optics, and submarine cables. The company offers local, domestic, and international voice calling, Internet access, and business data communications services in more than 4,000 cities across the country; it has about 6 million voice lines and 5 million broadband lines. Holding company Embrapar is a subsidiary of Mexico-based fixed-line carrier Telmex; it operates through subsidiaries Embratel SA, Telmex do Brasil, GB Enpreedimentos, and leading cable television operator Net Serviços.
