It's possible that Community Newspaper Holdings (CNHI) might be holding your community's newspaper. CNHI owns more than 140 daily, weekly, and semi-weekly publications in about 25 states, with a large presence in Oklahoma and Texas. Its holdings also include Massachusetts-based Eagle Tribune Publishing Company, owner of the Eagle-Tribune. In addition to its publishing operations, the company runs companion Web sites for many of its papers. Ralph Martin, formerly with the newspaper operations of Thomson Reuters (then known as Thomson Corporation), founded CNHI in 1997. The company is backed by state pension manager Retirement Systems of Alabama.
