Internet America is changing its "lines" of business. Traditionally a provider of dial-up Internet access and, to a lesser degree, of wire-line DSL broadband Internet access to rural and suburban markets in Texas, the company is battling dwindling subscriber numbers by expanding its wireless broadband Internet business. Total subscribers number more than 30,000 with about one quarter of those connecting wirelessly. Internet America also provides installation and maintenance services from its three Texas operational centers in Corsicana, San Antonio, and Stafford (near Houston). The ISP, founded in 1995, is known regionally for its 1-800-BE-A-GEEK sign-up number.
