Interfoods of America wants more food that enters Americans to be fried chicken. The largest US franchisee of Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits restaurants, Interfoods operates about 165 locations in Florida and a half dozen other southern states. The restaurants are operated through the company's wholly owned subsidiary Sailormen. Popeyes, one of the leading fast-food chicken chains, serves spicy fried chicken and a variety of side dishes, including biscuits and gravy. Interfoods franchises the restaurants from AFC Enterprises. CEO Robert Berg and president Steven Wemple took the company private in 2002.
