As the top insurance provider in the UK and a leading insurance firm worldwide, Aviva offers both life and general insurance. Its long-term savings segment focuses on life insurance, pensions, unit trusts, and other products; its general insurance segment includes the stuff which is called "non-life" or "property/casualty" elsewhere: home, auto, and fire coverage. Its Aviva Investors arm provides asset management globally. In the UK it also offers private medical insurance through employers. While most of the company's businesses operate under the Aviva banner, it also operates local businesses under other brands, including RAC.
