For casual day, Gildan Activewear has you covered. The company makes blank cotton and cotton/polyester T-shirts, tank tops, sweatshirts, and golf shirts for private-label use. Gildan makes its merchandise in Central America, Canada, and Mexico. Steadily fighting for market share (alongside its primary competitor Fruit of the Loom) in several segments of its business, Gildan sells its products to North American and European wholesale distributors, screenprinters, and embroiderers. Brothers Gregory and Glenn (president, CEO, and director) Chamandy co-founded Gildan in 1984; they relinquished their approximately 90% share in 2004. Gildan acquired V.I. Prewett & Son in early 2008.
