One of the first (and biggest) online mortgage lenders in the US, ditech.com offers first mortgages, fixed-rate second mortgages, and home equity lines of credit. Known for its aggressive marketing campaigns, the company has been a pioneer in offering fixed-fee mortgage loan programs and around-the-clock customer service. It advertises through cable television, freeway billboards, and on the radio. Founded in 1995, ditech.com is owned by GMAC through that firm's Residential Capital and GMAC Mortgage units. GMAC acquired the company in 1999.
