In the fast-paced city of Hong Kong, the Towngas lanterns are always burning bright. The Hong Kong and China Gas Company, operating under the name Towngas, distributes natural gas to more than 1.5 million customers throughout Hong Kong. The company offers a full range of gas resources, including industrial fuels and commercial and residential gas appliances. It also operates two gas production plants and has real estate development operations. With several joint ventures in place, Towngas is one of the first non-mainland organizations to develop major gas projects in mainland China. The Hong Kong and China Gas Company's main shareholder is Henderson Investment; Chairman Lee Shau Kee controls both companies.
