American Tower hopes to take its business to new heights. The tower management firm operates about 26,000 broadcast and communications towers, wireless towers, and distributed antenna systems in the US, Brazil, and Mexico. The company rents space on towers and rooftop antenna systems to wireless carriers and radio and TV broadcasters, who use the infrastructure to offer their own services. American Tower also offers some tower-related services: it provides site acquisition for new tower construction, performs structural analyses for carriers to determine if a tower can support additional equipment, and offers zoning and permitting services.
