This company is betting that online gaming can become a global phenomenon. World Gaming is a leading operator in the online gaming industry, with such sites as Sportsbetting.com, Racebook.com, and Win4Real.com. The sites allow gamblers to place bets on a wide array sporting events and to play online casino games, such as blackjack, poker, and slots. In addition to its gaming sites, the company designs and markets online gaming systems used by third party sites. The US effectively banned online gambling when Congress added a provision to a bill in 2006. As a result World Gaming directors resigned, leaving the company in the hands of administrators, and the firm ceased trading on the London exchange.
