As the publisher of weekly magazine "The Economist," The Economist Group has been in the thick of the British media scene since 1843. "The Economist" has a circulation of 1.4 million, with most of its readers living outside the UK. In addition, The Economist Group publishes specialty magazines, including CFO for senior financial executives; its Roll Call subsidiary publishes titles that include legislative and political news and analysis, and are widely read by lawmakers, policy makers, and lobbyists. Addtional operations are devoted to events (Economist Conferences) and research (Economist Intelligence Unit).The Financial Times Group, a subsidiary of British media giant Pearson, owns 50% of The Economist Group.
