De Beers S.A. is the holding company of the De Beers mining interests around the world. It oversees De Beers Consolidated Mines (DBCM, mining, South Africa) and The Diamond Trading Company (DTC, diamond marketing, UK). It also controls the De Beers diamond mining interests such as 50% stakes in Debswana (with the government of Botswana) and Namdeb (with the government of Namibia), as well as mining interests in Canada, Russia, and Tanzania. The company produces about 50 million carats annually, mostly from its Debswana operations, the highest producing mine in the world. De Beers is owned by South African resources giant Anglo American (45%), the Oppenheimer family (40%) and the Government of Botswana (15%).
