Among FANUC's products are the few, the proud, the robotic. FANUC produces computer numerical controls (CNC) used with machinery, in addition to manufacturing servomotors, linear motors, and laser oscillators utilized mainly by the automotive and machine tool industries. The company primarily specializes in robotics equipment, including injection-molding machines and robots that stack boxes and parts on pallets. Automotive industry customers include GM, Ford, Peugeot Citroën, and Volkswagen. Established in 1956, FANUC has a joint venture with General Electric in the US, GE Fanuc Automation, and operates subsidiaries in Asia, Europe, and North America. The company gets about half of its sales in Japan.
