Among Britain's publishing royalty, IPC Group Limited (formerly IPC Magazines) is a ruler, although it has joined a large American media family. One of the UK's leading consumer magazine publishers, IPC Group is owned by Time Warner subsidiary Time Inc., and has a collection of about 80 titles. Its brands are grouped into six divisions: IPC Connect (woman's weeklies, Look); IPC Ignite (men's lifestyle and entertainment, "Loaded"); IPC Inspire (special interest, Horse and Hound); IPC Southbank (women's lifestyle and home interest, Marie Claire); IPC TX (TV weeklies, "What's on TV"); and Marketforce (magazine distribution). IPC was formed in 1963 from the merger of three UK publishers (Newnes, Odhams, and Fleetway).
