Owned and operated by the Pritzkers, Chicago's financial super-family, H Group Holding is the holding company for Global Hyatt Corporation (hospitality operations) and Classic Residence senior communities. Since the death of Jay Pritzker in 1999, family squabbles over their vast (estimated $20 billion) fortune have led to talks of breaking up the empire and taking Hyatt public. The Pritzker portfolio also includes the credit bureau Trans Union, Pritzker Realty, and a stake in the Royal Caribbean cruise ship line. The family is active in philanthropic circles through the Pritzker Foundation.
