Malaysian Airline System (MAS) brings the world to Malaysia -- and vice versa -- through its main subsidiary, Malaysia Airlines, the nation's primary international carrier. From its hub in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Airlines serves about 100 destinations on six continents, some via code-sharing. The carrier's chief code-sharing partners include British Midland, Garuda, and KLM. (Code-sharing enables airlines to sell tickets on one another's flights and thus extend their networks.) Government-owned Penerbangan Malaysia Berhad (PMB) controls a 52% stake in MAS and holds title to the aircraft in the Malaysia Airlines fleet.
