Transcontinental publishes from coast to coast. The firm is Canada's largest commercial printer and #6 in North America, printing items such as books, catalogs, directories, consumer magazines, and other documents from more than 35 plants throughout North America. Through its Transcontinental Media subsidiary, the company publishes newspapers and magazines, including sports ("The Hockey News"), consumer ("Canadian Living"), and business ("Les Affaires") titles. In addition, Transcontinental Media offers multimedia production and hosts several Internet portals. Transcontinental also prints and distributes flyers and other direct marketing materials. The company was established in 1976 as a flyer printing business.
