Pathé has been a star on the boulevard of French entertainment for more than a century. The company co-produces movies and distributes films in France, Switzerland, and the UK, and has a 500-title movie library as well as a newsreel archive. The company gained cinema exhibition holdings through its takeover of Gaumont Theatres; Pathé owns more than 700 screens in France, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. In addition, Pathé has a stake in French football club Olympique Lyonnais. The company was founded by Charles Pathé and his brother at the end of the 19th century. Co-President Jérôme Seydoux and his family own Pathé.
