Acergy S.A. (formerly Stolt Offshore) has gone off the deep end. The company provides underwater engineering and construction services for offshore oil and gas producers. Using a fleet of 60 vessels (including three subsea construction ships, seven flexible pipelay ships, nine cargo barges, and 36 remotely operated vessels) Acergy lays flowlines and pipelines and provides construction, inspection, and maintenance services on offshore rigs. The company got its feet wet in the chilly North Sea, but it now operates in more-temperate waters. Acergy provides its integrated services to companies in offshore areas in more than 20 countries in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, North and South America, and West Africa.
