Gaseous form or liquid state are both OK with Cheniere Energy, which is engaged in the development of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) receiving-terminal business, a natural gas pipeline business, and oil and gas exploration and production. The company is building three onshore US Gulf Coast LNG receiving terminals with an aggregate regasification capacity of 10 billion cu. ft. per day, and developing pipelines to connect these to North American natural gas markets. Cheniere Energy's exploration and production unit has proved reserves of 8,869 barrels of oil and 1.3 billion cu. ft. of natural gas. The company operates along the coast of Louisiana, both onshore and in the shallow waters along the Gulf of Mexico.
