Get some new cotton underwear for a gift? Chances are a member of the Staple Cotton Cooperative Association (Staplcotn) grew the cotton your new skivvies are made of. Most of the co-op's yield is sold to the US textile industry to make men's knit underwear, T-shirts, sheets, towels, and denim. Staplcotn sells some 3 million bales of cotton annually both domestically and overseas. It serves its more than 11,000 members in 45 states. The co-op's Stapldiscount unit offers members low-interest loans for equipment, buildings, and land. Staplcotn has 14 regional offices in six states and 16 warehouses in three states.
