You can't judge a book by its cover, and you can't always guess a company's activities from its name. Elbit Medical Imaging's primary operations are in real estate. The company develops, builds, manages, and sells mixed-use shopping and entertainment centers in Central and Eastern Europe and India through majority-owned subsidiary Plaza Centers N.V. It also manages hotels and has venture capital investments in apparel stores, such as Mango International, in major European cities through its wholly-owned subsidiary Elscint. Additionally, Elbit makes medical devices and develops drug therapies through InSightec and Gamida Cell. Investment firm Europe-Israel controls 47% of the company.
