One of the world's top jewelry companies (behind Tiffany & Co. and Cartier) Bulgari been crafting prized baubles for the rich and famous for more than 100 years. Today Bulgari reaches a larger -- but no less exclusive -- market through some 230 Bulgari stores, as well as select retailers worldwide. Japan is the Rome-based company's biggest market. Bulgari's product lines include jewelry, watches, perfumes, leather goods, silks, pens, and eyewear (under license to Luxottica). The family of founder Sotirio Bulgari, who opened the company's first shop in 1884, owns about 51% of the company.
