Pinnacle Foods has a mouthful of big-name brands. The company produces North American grocery store staples such as Mrs. Butterworth's, Log Cabin, and Country Kitchen (syrup, pancake mixes); Duncan Hines (baking mixes); Lender's (bagels); Van de Kamp's and Mrs. Paul's (fish sticks, anyone?); Vlasic and Milwaukee's (pickles); Chef's Choice (frozen skillet meals); and Celeste (frozen pizza). Pinnacle has grown by buying well-known brands and then expanding those brand lines by adding new products. In 2009 it increased its frozen foods holdings significantly with the 2009 purchase of Birds Eye Foods. In 2007 Pinnacle was acquired by the Blackstone Group for some $2 billion in cash and assumed debt.
