J.F. Shea didn't build Shea Stadium -- but it could have. The real estate, engineering, and construction group provides services for civil engineering, commercial, and residential projects. Flagship division J.F. Shea Construction offers design/build services, while its civil engineering division builds tunnels and water treatment and storage facilities. Another group member, Shea Homes builds planned communities and other residences in about a half-dozen states. Shea Properties invests in and develops commercial real estate. Other divisions provide construction materials, foundation construction and machinery, and venture capital. The Shea family owns J.F. Shea, which was founded as a plumbing company in 1881.
