Groupe AB has French TV viewers glued to the small screen. The company offers about 20 pay cable stations, including AB Moteurs (a car-themed channel), AB1 (fiction and TV series), and NT1 (general interest programming). Other channels in its collection focus on such themes as hunting, history, and science; Groupe AB also operates three movie channels. In addition, the company owns more than half of Capital Media Group, the operator of German music channel TERRA NOVA, and it owns a 40% stake in digital channel TMC. The channels boast about 25 million subscribers. Co-founder and CEO Claude Berda controls the company; French broadcaster TF1 has a 33% stake.
