With Bright Horizons Family Solutions, kids learn while parents earn. The firm operates more than 600 workplace child-care centers throughout the US and in Canada, Ireland, and the UK. Bright Horizons offers day care, emergency back-up, before-and after-school care, and vacation care, as well as summer camps, elementary schools, and college admissions counseling services. Most of its centers are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, which generally uses more stringent standards than those required by states. In 2008 Bright Horizons was acquired by an affiliate of Bain Capital.
