The company owns and publishes the Chicago Reader, an alternative weekly publication specializing in features focused on urban issues, politics, and arts and culture. The advertising-supported Reader is distributed at more than 1,400 locations in and around Chicago. The company also publishes its content online and syndicates the "Straight Dope" column. First published in 1971, the Chicago Reader is part of weekly newspaper group Creative Loafing, owned by Atalaya Capital Management.
