Chubu Electric Power is Japan's third-largest electric utility after Tokyo Electric and Kansai Electric. The company supplies power to about 16 million people in central Japan's Chubu region, a leading manufacturing region in Japan that includes Nagoya, one of the country's largest cities. It has thermal, hydroelectric, nuclear, wind, and solar power generating facilities that together have a capacity of more than 32,830 GW. It also has power transmission and distribution facilities. In response to deregulation, Chubu Electric Power has moved into newer industries, including IT, natural gas supply, real estate management, and overseas consulting.
