Delta Financial specializes in originating fixed-rate non-conforming mortgage loans secured by first liens on one- to four-family residential properties. Wholesale lending subsidiary Delta Funding operates through a network of some 3,200 independent brokers in more than 30 states. Its Fidelity Mortgage division comprises the retail segment and has about 10 offices that lend directly to borrowers who typically don't meet conventional credit guidelines. The company originated more than 26,000 first and second home mortgages in 2006; customers in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania account for more than a third of the company's loan volume.
