PJ United's pizza comes from Papa. The company is the largest franchisee of Papa John's International, with about 115 pizza delivery locations in six states, including Alabama, Louisiana, and Texas. In addition to its original crust and thin crust pizzas, available with a variety of toppings, the company's pizza outlets serve cheese sticks, breadsticks, chicken strips, and dipping sauces. PJ United procures its pizza dough, food products, and paper products from the commissary system of Papa John's, the #3 pizza chain behind Pizza Hut (part of YUM! Brands) and Domino's. Private equity firm The Halifax Group led a management buyout of the company in 2008.
