Dassault Systèmes takes a systematic approach to the engineering and design process. The company provides a variety of computer-aided design, manufacturing, engineering, and product lifecycle management (PLM) software that firms use to create, model, and test designs. Its products include software for mechanical design and drafting (CATIA), digital manufacturing and simulation (DELMIA), product lifecycle management (ENOVIA), and 3-D solid modeling (SolidWorks). A long-standing partnership with IBM (which includes marketing, servicing, and distributing Dassault's CATIA and ENOVIA software) accounts for about one-quarter of sales. Groupe Industriel Marcel Dassault owns around 45% of the company.
