Commercial television stations in Central and Eastern Europe are the domain of Central European Media Enterprises (CME). The company owns or has interests in about 20 national commercial TV stations in such countries as the Czech Republic, Romania, and Ukraine. Its holdings include POP TV (Slovenia), PRO TV (Romania), TV Markíza (Slovak Republic), and TV Nova (Czech Republic). The stations reach more than 85 million viewers. CME generates almost all of its revenue from TV advertising. An investment group that includes Apax Partners and chairman Ronald Lauder (heir to the Estée Lauder fortune) has more than 60% control of the company.
