Nippon Television Network is a leading media conglomerate in Japan anchored by its popular NTV national broadcast network. The TV network airs a mix of entertainment, news, and sports programming (about 90% created in-house) through about 30 affiliate stations. It also has international news bureaus in about dozen cities worldwide. Through its subsidiaries, Nippon Television also produces and distributes motion pictures, records and promotes music CDs, and licenses media properties for merchandise. In addition, the company owns the Tokyo Verdy soccer team.
