With a daily circulation of 8 million, it is noted for its in-depth political coverage and investigative reporting. Asahi Shimbun also publishes books and magazines, including "AERA" and "Shukan Asahi". The firm's English-language "Asahi Evening News" has been replaced by the "International Herald Times/The Asahi Shimbun", published in cooperation with International Herald Tribune.
