Radio-free Europe? Not if SBS Broadcasting can help it. Formerly Scandinavian Broadcasting System, the company is a leading TV and radio station operator in Europe's developing markets. It owns or has interests in 10 TV stations and 53 radio stations throughout nine European countries. TV stations include Kanal 5 (Sweden and Denmark), Prima TV (Romania), SBS6 (63%, the Netherlands), TvDanmark (Denmark), and TV2 (84%, Hungary). Radio stations include Radio City (Sweden), The Voice (Denmark), and Radio Sata (Finland). SBS has been acquired by private equity firms Permira and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) in a deal worth more than $2.2 billion.
