Stephens Media Group is betting on a need for news. The diversified media company is the publisher of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, boasting a circulation of more than 170,000 in and around the Sin City, as well as several neighborhood and specialty papers serving the Vegas market. Outside Nevada, Stephens Media publishes more than 40 newspapers in eight states and operates news bureaus in Little Rock, Arkansas, and Washington, DC. The company also runs online sites for many of its publications, as well as portal sites such as LasVegas.com, Hawaii.com, and CasinoGaming.com. Founded by the late Donald Reynolds in 1940, Stephens Media Group is owned by the Stephens Group, an Arkansas-based investment firm.
