Waters works with a lot of chemicals more complicated than H2O. Waters Corporation makes high-performance liquid chromatography instruments used by researchers, scientists, and engineers to separate and identify chemicals. The company also makes mass spectrometers that help identify chemical compounds. Its products are used to develop new drugs, identify the nutritional content of foods, and test air and water quality. Waters' TA division makes thermal analyzers and rheometry instruments for determining the physical characteristics of polymers and other substances. Customers are in government, academia, and industrial sectors; more than two-thirds of sales are from customers located outside the US.
