Here are a couple big names in fine dining. The Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group operates about 10 upscale steakhouses around the country under the iconic Smith & Wollensky name. Based on the original location opened in New York in 1977, the restaurants offer prime grade beef, as well as lamb, veal, and seafood dishes, along with an extensive wine list. Some locations also feature a Wollensky's Grill that serves smaller portioned meals at a lower price. Smith & Wollensky is owned by Project Grill, an investment vehicle controlled by restaurateurs Nick Valenti and Joachim Splichial (Patina Restaurant Group).
