Japanese women support Wacoal, and Wacoal supports Japanese women. As the operating unit of Wacoal Holdings Corp., Wacoal Corp. is Japan's leading maker of lingerie, but it also makes nightwear, children's underwear, outerwear, and sportswear. Wacoal has stretched its undergarment business to China and Southeast Asia, France, the UK, and the US (where products are sold under the Wacoal and licensed Donna Karan brands). Its primary customers include upscale department stores and specialty stores, but Wacoal also sells online and through its main LOVE BODY catalog and others. Wacoal, which has begun targeting younger women, operates about 95 specialty retail and factory outlet stores in Japan.
