Its XpressCheX and National Check Network (NCN) units provide check-related services, including authorization, guarantee, conversion, collection, and verification; the NCN database comprises positive and negative consumer checking account data from more than 250 collection agencies. ECHO's clients include more than 100,000 retail merchants, as well as banks and technology firms. The company was acquired by Intuit for about $131 million in 2008 and now operates as part of that firm's Payroll and Payments segment.
