Swiss Reinsurance is filling in any holes it can find in the reinsurance biz. The company -- now the world's largest reinsurer -- reinsures life, health, property, motor, and liability insurance. Swiss Re has targeted its asset management services to small and medium-sized insurers looking to outsource their funds management. The insurer also helps insurers identify, assess, and manage their overall risk; in addition, it conducts and publishes scientific investigations relevant to the industry. While Swiss Re is active around the globe, its activities in the US account for some 40% of the company's revenues.
