The Bodine Electric Company (no relation to Jethro, Granny, or any of The Beverly Hillbillies, nor the BoDeans rock band) makes electric motors. The company, which made the first electric motor for a dental drill back in the early 1900s, now makes fractional-horsepower electric motors, gear motors, and controls for both industrial and OEM applications. Products include AC, DC, and brushless DC motors, as well as electronic motion controls. The company also makes fine-pitch gears for metalworking and specialty machinery, and custom builds motors. Founded in 1905 by brothers Carl and Paul Bodine, the company is still owned by the Bodine family.
