It also publishes a handful of other magazines, including ForbesLife, a lifestyle magazine for business leaders, and "American Legacy," an African-American history quarterly that's a joint venture with RJR Communications. In addition, the company operates Forbes.com, produces business-related conferences, and publishes newsletters and custom magazines. Scottish immigrant and journalist B.C. Forbes launched "Forbes" in 1917. CEO Malcolm "Steve" Forbes (B.C.'s grandson) became known as a self-funded Republican presidential candidate in 1996 and 2000.
